ACCP's vision for the profession of pharmacy is that pharmacists will be recognized and valued as the preeminent health care professionals responsible for the use of medicines in the prevention and treatment of disease. ACCP also envisions that it will be the most respected and influential organization advancing pharmacotherapy in the prevention and treatment of disease. As a part of this vision:

• ACCP believes that pharmacists of the future will commonly serve as principal investigators for pharmacotherapy research, generate a substantial portion of the research that guides drug therapy, and compete successfully with other health care professionals for research funding;
• ACCP foresees that its members will commonly serve as principal investigators for pivotal clinical trials and other pharmacotherapy research; and
• Advance ACCP's research mission through supporting and implementing ACCP's Research Agenda.
